Pizza Diavola Recipe

Pizza Diavola is a delicious classic that will spice up your pizza party!

Pizza Diavola means “devil pizza”. It’s named that because it’s spicy. Spicy salami and hot chili peppers make this one hell of a pizza!

Pizza Diavola ingredients

Pizza Diavola toppings

  • 80-100g fresh mozzarella (fior di latte)
  • 5-10 slices of spicy salami (salame piccante)
  • One thinly sliced chili pepper
  • (optional) A handful of black olives

Instructions: How to make Pizza Diavola

  1. Stretch out the pizza dough.
  2. Spread the sauce evenly throughout the pizza base using a spoon starting from the center of the pizza. Make sure to leave half an inch at the edge of the pizza without sauce to create a nice edge (“cornicione”) that will puff up in the oven.
  3. Sprinkle over the mozzarella.
  4. Add spicy salami, chilies, and olives.
  5. Bake the pizza for 60-90 seconds at 850°F (450°C). Alternatively, bake on a preheated pizza steel in your home oven for 4-8 minutes at the hottest setting.
